Pup My Ride!

Pup My Ride began in Los Angeles in 2008 and ultimately it had a goal to transport dogs across the nation to other partnering shelters in an effort to bring dogs to other cities that were in high demand, yet in excess here in Los Angeles.

The transports have different dogs on each "Ride," sometimes they could all be dogs that are being transported due to shelter over crowding, and, sadly enough, sometimes they are dogs that have been saved from pet shops and may be ill or have a little something "different" about them that might make them harder to adopt (which they always get adopted in the long run!).

To date, the Pup My Ride program averages 6,000 driven each month and 120,000 miles since its inception in 2008. All of these miles that have been driven have saved 6.589 dogs from a certain death. Now THAT is coming together to create a world of no more homeless pets! Way to go, Best Friends Animal Society-Los Angeles!

Stay tuned, my second to last post is coming up and it will feature the very last giveaway!
